Space for Artistic and Civic Imagination
Mains d’Œuvres was born out of a foundational desire: to transmit creation to all, to render the capacity to imagine, feel, and create our society together. Through exhibitions, concerts, performances, workshops, and encounters during the creative processes and in the exploration of innovative artistic forms.
Independent Space for Creation and Dissemination
Also a space for research and experimentation intended to welcome artists from all disciplines, associative and civic initiatives, the association Mains d’Œuvres, founded in 1998, is located in the former social and sports center of the Valeo Factories, a 4000 m² building on the outskirts of the Saint-Ouen Flea Market. The space opened its doors to the public in January 2001. Anchored in the territory, in constant search of sensitive intersections connecting art and society, Mains d’Œuvres is decidedly a diverse space, open to all.
Space for Supporting Artistic Practices
Mains d’Œuvres aims to induce other possibilities in supporting artistic practices. Primarily through residency programs, Mains d’Œuvres accompanies artists and project leaders in their research. In addition to providing workspace, project support is at the heart of the program, finding human and logistical solutions for projects and creations, in a spirit of participation and mutualisation.
