Independent Cultural Sector in Azerbaijan: Challenges and Opportunities offers a rare, close-up look at a cultural scene that's growing but still largely under the radar. Independent art initiatives have expanded across Azerbaijan in recent years, yet they remain more of a local, immediate-community phenomenon than a subject of international awareness or academic study, and this publication helps change that.
Produced as the final output of Cultural Accelerator, the capacity-building programme run by Trans Europe Halles and Ta(r)dino 6 Art Platform in 2020–2021, the publication summarises the project's results and goes further: it gathers quotes from local artists, presents survey findings collected throughout the programme, and offers concrete recommendations for developing independent arts in the country.
